Stop Steam from launching automatically
The big question is, then, how do we stop Steam from opening every time we boot into Windows 10. There are a few ways to get this done and were going to talk about them in order to help you focus when gaming is not on your mind. Steam doesn’t have to launch automatically if you do not use it regularly. So, let’s take a look at steps involved in stopping Steam from auto-launching.
Close the Steem Login box which pops up
For those who have not set Steam to sign into their account automatically, you could simply click on the close icon each time it comes up after booting into Windows 10. The client will shutdown fully and easily, but that’s a different story if it opens into your account.
Disable Steam from running at startup via its Settings
To get this done, the user is required to fire up the Steam Settings are. We can do this by right-clicking on the Steam icon on the Taskbar or from the Hidden icons section, then select Settings from the menu. Additionally, you could open Steam, then click on the Steam menu, and select Settings. After opening the Settings area, please navigate to the Interface tab, then untick the box that says Run Steam when my computer starts.
Alternative way using Task Manager
Another option is to disable the startup directly from the Task Manager, and from our experience, this is the easier route. OK, so open the Task Manager by right-clicking on the Taskbar and choose Task Manager from the menu that pops up. Once it is up and running, select the Startup tab, then look for Steam Client Bootstrapper. Right-click on the name and choose Disable to forcefully stop the Steam client from running at Windows 10 startup. Hope this helps.
