CCleaner is probably the most popular junk file and registry cleaner software for Windows. It is safe, quick yet effective. CCEnhancer goes a step further and adds several more cleaning options to it.
To use this tool, you will have to first download it to your computer. It is a small portable tool. Once downloaded, click on it to run it. The actual file containing the definitions is not included with the program but is instead downloaded by the program. Press Download Latest, and the tool will automatically download the most recent version of the definitions. CCEnhancer uses the WinApp2.ini system built into CCleaner to add new rules and definitions for programs. Its Settings offers a few more options. Like you can set the program to check for new definitions every time Windows starts, run CCleaner silently once the definitions are updated or trim the definition file to improve performance. I found that after adding all the definitions, CCleaner does take a little extra time to initialize. If CCEnhancer cannot locate the CCleaner.exe file, you can open a dialog box and select the page yourself. If you have installed CCleaner, CCEnhancer will find the path automatically. But if you are using the CCleaner Portable version, then, you will have to click on Functions and then Add Portable Location. Browse to the CCleaner portable folder and select it. Once the work is done, you will see several new programs and cleaning options visible under Cleaner > Applications.
